Step 1: Employer Submits a Request

The recruitment process begins when an employer submits a formal request. This foundational step is where the company communicates its specific needs to the recruitment agency.

During this phase, the Eurasia Consult team conducts a detailed needs analysis that includes:

  • Number of workers needed — exact headcount by position and shift
  • Job descriptions — specific duties, required skills, and physical requirements
  • Working conditions — salary, working hours, insurance, and additional benefits
  • Qualification requirements — certificates, prior experience, language skills
  • Timeline — when the workers are expected to start

The employer fills out a standardized application form that serves as the basis for the entire process. Our team advises the client on the optimal candidate profile and realistic recruitment timelines.

Employer Documentation

To initiate the process, the employer provides: company registration, job description, draft employment contract, and proof of inability to find local workers through the Labor Bureau.

Step 2: Candidate Sourcing

After the request is approved, Eurasia Consult activates its network of partners in more than 5 countries — Nepal, Uzbekistan, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, and others. Each country has its own specifics regarding available skills, cultural characteristics, and administrative procedures.

The sourcing process includes:

  • Activating local partners — licensed agencies in source countries
  • Posting job advertisements — in local media and online platforms
  • Database search — among pre-registered candidates
  • Referral programs — recommendations from foreign workers already employed in Bulgaria

Typically, 3-5 times more candidates are identified than needed, ensuring sufficient choice and backup options.

Step 3: Screening & Interviews

Selection is the critical phase where candidates' skills, motivation, and suitability are evaluated. Eurasia Consult applies a multi-stage screening process:

Initial Screening

Verification of identity documents, educational qualifications, prior work experience, and health status. Candidates with discrepancies are eliminated at this stage.

Video Interviews

Video calls are conducted with each candidate, evaluating communication skills, motivation, and basic abilities. Where necessary, practical tests are organized — for example, cooks are asked to prepare specific dishes.

Skills Verification

For specialized positions (welders, machine operators, electricians), practical exams are organized at partner centers in source countries.

The employer receives finalist profiles with video presentations and can participate in final interviews if desired.

Step 4: Documentation & Permits

Document processing is the most complex and time-consuming part of the process. It involves several parallel administrative procedures:

  • Work permit — submitted to the Employment Agency, processing time: 15-30 business days
  • Type D visa — the candidate applies at the Bulgarian embassy/consulate in their country
  • Medical examinations — mandatory health certificates and vaccinations
  • Document legalization — diplomas and certificates must be legalized and translated
  • Housing provision — the employer must prove availability of suitable accommodation

Eurasia Consult handles all document processing, institutional communication, and coordination between all parties. Clients receive regular updates through our online tracking platform.

Step 5: Travel Arrangements

After the visa is obtained, Eurasia Consult organizes the entire logistics of worker travel:

  • Flight booking — searching for optimal routes and prices
  • Group travel organization — when multiple workers arrive simultaneously
  • Airport pickup — our representative meets workers at Sofia, Varna, or Burgas airport
  • Transport to workplace — arranging transfer from the airport to the final destination

Before departure, workers undergo an orientation program in their home country, receiving information about Bulgaria, working conditions, rights and obligations, as well as basic language preparation.

Step 6: Arrival & Onboarding

Arriving in Bulgaria is just the beginning of the integration process. Eurasia Consult provides comprehensive support during the first weeks:

Accommodation

Workers are settled in pre-arranged housing provided by the employer. We verify that conditions meet regulatory requirements — adequate space, heating, sanitary facilities, and a kitchen.

Administrative Procedures

Assistance with obtaining address registration, a foreigner personal number, a residence permit, and health insurance enrollment.

Work Induction

Coordination with the employer for a smooth start — meeting colleagues, safety briefings, task assignment, and work schedules.

Ongoing Support

Our team remains available for consultations and assistance with everyday or administrative issues. This includes translation services, conflict mediation, and help with document renewals.

Timeline & Online Tracking

The typical timeline from request submission to worker arrival is 3-6 weeks, depending on:

  • The candidates' country of origin
  • The type of position and required qualifications
  • Processing speed at institutions
  • Availability of ready candidates in our database

Employers have access to an online tracking platform where they can monitor the status of every request in real time — from candidate selection to visa issuance and flight booking.
